Hello David
Viewed through a telescope I live in a world governed by Einsteinian relativity
Viewed through a microscope I live in a world governed by quantum uncertainty
Simply seen I am present and not New

To America, happy birthday!

To England, happy "beginning of the end of your empire" day (next step in that comes September 18th).

"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed'? Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.'" - Carl Sagan

Re: Happy Birthday
Nonsense, Roy! Catholics aren't real Christians because they are encouraged to follow Jesus's example and do good works and love thy neighbor and not cast stones while sinful and such. REAL Christian virtues means taking the one verse of the Bible that can kinda, sorta be interpreted in the right light to mean that simply believing Jesus was God is what you need and all you need to get into Heaven and then figuring out convoluted ways to make the rest sorta support that message.

Re: Happy Birthday
Yeah, Frankie never had that "give me your money" attitude that the church higher-ups are notorious for. He lives in an apartment building and cooks his own meals. There's never been a Pope like that before. I was going more by the supposed doctrine with that comment than with the traditional in-practice behavior of the clergy officials.
