Inspirational...it reminds me of this poem from Charles Dicken's 'The Pickwick Papers':

Ode to an Expiring Frog

Can I view thee panting, lying
On thy stomach, without sighing;
Can I unmoved see thee dying
On a log
Expiring frog!"'

'"Say, have fiends in shape of boys,
With wild halloo, and brutal noise,
Hunted thee from marshy joys,
With a dog,
Expiring frog!"'

That was beautiful. I cried for that sandwich. Here is my own attempt:-

Ode to a Bucket of Easter Eggs I Found on Special Offer in Tesco

Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
All shiny and clean.
Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
All chocolately sheen.

Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
I want to eat you.
Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
I want to buy you.

Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
You're seven pounds fifty.
Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
Your price is so nifty.

Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
Your eggs number twelve.
Oh bucket of Easter eggs,
You're still on the shelf.

Great job, ADoS!

You might want to update your copyright, though.

Not to seem like a brat (which I can be at times) but I posted one of my poems quite awhile back and no one said squat about it.
Humph. :annoyed:

Might I call to mind
That time, many ages back
When I TALKED like this?

In other news, there are some new poems on my deviantArt. Be sure to pay mind to "The Darkness Spreads", which won first place in the Poetry category of the OECTA Young Author's Award competition, (at the school level). Not posted is the Short Story that won the same level in it's category. However, the French poem that won city-wide in its category is posted.

And, when I finish writing the play I am hoping will win in its category next year, I shall post it. It will be written entirely in verse, and in Early Modern English.
