I don't believe in FSM for some of the same reasons I don't believe in yhwh or jc, the easter bunny or santa claus. Where's the evidence?
I mean, I think I'd rather believe in FSM than in yhwh or jc, (the pastafarian heaven is SO much cooler!

,) but until I see the tiniest shred of evidence, no, thanks. I'll keep on keepin' it real.
I asked a catholic co-worker, pretty smart dude, the other day if he's ever thought about WHY he believes on his god. His response was yes, and when I asked him why, his reply had something to do with it hurting his brain. I was certainly stopped in my tracks, because frankly, that reason to believe in the utter lack of a tiniest shred of evidence or reason to believe makes about as much sense (
to me) as any other I've been exposed to.
Some 5 or 6 or 7 billion years from now, the Sun will become a red giant star and will engulf the orbits of Mercury and Venus and probably the Earth. The Earth then would be inside the Sun, and some of the problems that face us on this particular day will appear, by comparison, modest. On the other hand, since it is 5,000 or more million years away, it is not our most pressing problem. It is, though, worth bearing in mind. It has theological implications. - Carl Sagan, Master of Understatement
