Re: Blatant Advertising
I would like to advertise a charitable fundraising contest, http://www.madnessagainstmalaria.com, and in particular, two teams in that contest, Atheists Against Anopheles, (http://www.madnessagainstmalaria.com/atheists) and Geekdom against Malaria (http://www.madnessagainstmalaria.com/geekdom) . Please be aware that if you wish to set up a Pastafarian, Pirate or any other team in that contest, you have until March 14th.

A pirates team has also been (re-)launched, at www.madnessagainstmalaria.com/pirates. Support piracy and fight malaria today!

Stumbled upon a drinkin’ establishment today, Edd’s Tavern, and was inspired to jot down this little ditty (once I regained consciousness, of course).
Plundr’n your way on the seas today takes everything you've got
Taking a break from fish head stew, sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like a tankard o’ grog?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody buys a round,
but they're always on your tab
You wanna be where you can see,
outta your one good eye,
that the patrons are scum but they’ve all
been maimed
You wanna go where wenches know,
pirates are all the same,
You wanna be where the cabin boys know

It seems to make a lot of sense to give your money to organizations that promise to do something useful with it. However, there should only be one such organization not a zillion. How are we supposed to know who is in more need? I prefer to give excess money I have no use for to people who tell me they always know what to do with their money. I gave over 1000 euro to my heardresser for that reason. He asked for 19.20 but I didn't care because he said he would give excess money to the needy (NOT CHARITY). I walked away when he started objecting to the insane pay for my hearcut.
I shouldn't have told my parents because they panicked called my psychiatrist and the three of them judged me mentally unstable. The resulting pill pushing, refusing, frustration, anger finally led me to isolation. Fortunately isolation is not punishment for a merman. So I used my time well to abstractify myself down to a point in space with human awareness. That abstraction of self was usefull in conversations that followd. Of course I never tell that I have an abstract self that feels what happened and might happen. People may think I'm insane. I would object.

I am going on a 25km bicycle ride on Monday, March 14th, as part of the Big Canberra Bike Ride, to raise money for the Heart Foundation.
If anyone has a few cents to spare, I would be ever so grateful if you could please sponsor me here. Please? :-)

Re: Blatant Advertising
Thank you to everyone who has donated to my fundraising!
It is very generous of you; also, it has put me in second place on the fundraising page! ^_^
Who would like me to ride in Pirate gear? I'll even make a Flying Spaghetti Monster and carry a sign with the web address of Venganza, if you like!

Fellow Pastafarians,
Terrible disaster in Japan. To show the world how merciful Flying Spaghetti Monster could be, I have started a fundrasing effort for International Medical Corps through it's UK partner (because I am living in the UK and using a web service based here).
Flying Spaghetti Monster Bless Japan
The rule is simple: You give this blog article 100 FB likes, I donate £100, until the fund reaches it's £1000 goal. If it reaches its goal in less a week, I will match it with an additional £500.
In other words, you don't even have to donate yourself, just spread the word and share the blog page.
Please support, for Flying Spaghetti Monster!
