Adding Captain Kelly's Kitchen by th' Dropkicks. This be startin' t' seem a one-artist effort. Lyrics t' follow.
"Come single guy and gal unto me pay attention
Don't ever fall in love
It's the devil's own invention
For once he fell in love with a maiden so bewitching
Miss Henrietta Bell down in Captain Kelly's kitchen
[Chorus:]
With me toora loora la, me toora loora laddie
Me toora loora la and me toora loora laddie
At the age of seventeen I apprenticed to a grocer
Not far from Stephen's Green
Where Miss Henri' used to go sir
Her manners were sublime she set my heart a-twitchin'
When she invited me to a party in the kitchen
[Chorus]
Sunday was the day that they were to have their flare-up
He dressed himself quite gay
I frizzed and oiled my hair up
The Captain had no wife and he had gone a-fishin'
She groped me on the stairs beneath the old man's kitchen
[Chorus]
Her arms around my waist she slyly hinted marriage
When to the door in haste came Captain Kelly's carriage
Her eyes were full of hate and poison she was spittin'
The Captain kicked the door in and stormed into the kitchen
[Chorus]
When the Captain came downstairs he saw my situation
In spite of all his prayers he was marched off to the station
For him they'd take no bail
To get home I was itchin'
He had to tell the tale how I came into the kitchen
[Chorus]
I said she did invite me
But she gave flat denial
For assault she did indict me and I was sent for trial
She swore he'd robbed her house
In spite of all her screechin'
I got six months hard
For his courtin' in the kitchen
[Chorus]"

Re: Mod'rn Songs ov pirates?
He's nae much ov a pyrate, but Cap'n Gorrrdon Litefoote recordid these too littil shanties:
Ghosts Of Cape Horn
All around old Cape Horn
Ships of the line, ships of the morn
Some who wish they'd never been born
They are the ghosts of Cape Horn
Fal deral da riddle de rum
With a rim dim diddy
And a rum dum dum
Sailing away at the break of morn
They are the ghosts of Cape Horn
See them all in sad repair
Demons dance everywhere
Southern gales, tattered sails
And none to tell the tales
Come all of you rustic old sea dogs
Who follow the great Southern Cross
You we're rounding the Horn
In the eye of a storm
When ya lost 'er one day
And you read all yer letters
From oceans away
Then you took them to the bottom of the sea
All around old Cape Horn
Ships of the line, ships of the morn
Those who wish they'd never been born
They are the ghosts of Cape Horn
Fal deral da riddle de rum
With a rim dim diddy
And a rum dum dum
Sailing away at the break of morn
They are the ghosts of Cape Horn
Come all you old sea dogs from Devon
Southampton, Penzance, and Kinsale
You were caught by the chance
Of a sailor's last dance
It was not meant to be
And ya read all yer letters
Cried anchor aweigh
Then ya took them to the bottom of the sea
All around old Cape Horn
Ships of the line, ships of the morn
Those who wish they'd never been born
They are the ghosts of Cape Horn
Fal deral da riddle de rum
With a rim dim diddy
And a rum dum dum
Sailing away at the break of morn
They are the ghosts of Cape Horn
Christian Island
I'm sailing down the summer wind
I got whiskers on my chin
And I like the mood I'm in
As I while away the time of day
In the lee of Christian Island
Tall and strong she dips and reels
I call her Silver Heels
And she tells me how she feels
She's a good old boat and she'll stay afloat
Through the toughest gales and keep smilin'
But for one more day she would like to stay
In the lee of Christian Island
I'm sailing down the summer day
Where the fish and seagulls play
I put my troubles all away
And when the gales comes up I'll fill my cup
With the whiskey of the Highlands
She's a good old ship and she'll make the trip
From the lee of Christian Island
Tall and strong she slips along
I sing for her a song
And she leans into the wind
She's a good old boat and she'll stay afloat
Through the toughest gales and keep smilin'
When the summer ends we will rest again
In the lee of Christian Island
I will honor Monkey in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

Piratical song by Vladimir Vysotsky (1938-1980) – dissident whose talent exerted significant influence on us during the socialism:

I knew that Cap'n Slappy looked familiar...he reminds me of that wonderful song writer and guitarist John Martyn:

Thar be a buch o' bands wiv pirate-y music aside from teh dropkicks, flogging molly fer starters.
Also: larkin, meisce, rum rebellion, saint bushmills choir, ahead to the sea, Voltaire, mutiny, blood or whiskey, the killigans, gogol bordello, zyderpunks, Defiance,Ohio, mischief brew... some of 'em's more piraty than others, but ye can take yer pick. Most of 'em ave got myspaces so ye can start from there.
'ere's one shanty by Floggin Molly after me own heart:
Seven deadly sins
Sail away where no ball and chain
Can keep us from the roarin' waves,
Together undivided but forever we'll be free.
So sail away aboard our rig
The moon is full and so are we,
Seven drunken pirates
We're the seven deadly sins.
So the years rolled by and several died
And left us somewhat reelin'.
Johnny strummed his Tommy gun
Left blastin' through the ceiling.
What became of rebels
Who sang for you and me?
Grapplin' with their demons
In the search for liberty.
Sufferers who suffer all
Can swim upon the desert.
Avarice has ravaged all
In spite of good intentions.
Don't fill your mouth with gluttony,
For pride will surely swell.
But nothing's unforgiven in the four corners of Hell. So,
Sail away where no ball and chain
Can keep us from the roarin' waves,
Together undivided but forever we'll be free.
Sail away aboard our rig
The moon is full and so are we,
Seven drunken pirates
We're the seven deadly sins.
Seven drunken pirates
We're the seven deadly sins!
Envy and its evil twin
It crept in bed with slander.
Idiots they gave advice
But sloth it gave no answer.
Anger kills the human soul
With bitter tales of lust.
While Pavlov's dogs keep chewin'
On the legs they never trust.
Sail away where no ball and chain
Can keep us from the roarin' waves,
Together undivided but forever we'll be free.
Sail away aboard our rig
The moon is full and so are we,
Seven drunken pirates
We're the seven deadly sins,
We're seven drunken pirates
We're the seven deadly sins.
But it's the only life we'll know,
Blaggards to the bone!
So don't wreck yourself
Take an honest grip,
For there's more tales beyond the shore!
Ah the years rolled by and several died
And left us somewhat reelin'.
In and out came crawlin' out
And spewed upon the ceiling.
What became of rebels
Who sang for you and me?
Grapplin' with their demons
In the search for liberty!

Re: Mod'rn Songs ov pirates?
Yeah, pretty much any song by Dropkick Murphey's or Flogging Molly fits the bill.
Also see "A Pirate I Was Meant To Be" from The Curse of Monkey Island. Skip ahead to about 2:49 for the song, but the stuff before that is entertaining. You can also download just the song here
There's always "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" by Relient K (or veggie tales, yeech) I suggest the second video down, the Cowboy Bebop amv, here.
We also can't forget "Yo Ho, A Pirates Life For Me", from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. For a more depressing shanty, there's "hoist the colors" from the At World's End soundtrack.
Or, if you like a harder taste to yer shanty's, there's always Alestorm!
and lastly,
"Drunken sailor" by the Irish Rovers

Aye, I love that song. :D Colin Meloy = sexy manbeast.
Drunken Sailor
What do you do with a drunken sailor,
What do you do with a drunken sailor,
What do you do with a drunken sailor,
Earl-eye in the morning!
[Chorus:]
Way hay and up she rises
Way hay and up she rises
Way hay and up she rises
Earl-eye in the morning
Shave his belly with a rusty razor,
Shave his belly with a rusty razor,
Shave his belly with a rusty razor,
Earl-eye in the morning!
[Chorus]
Put him in the hold with the Captain's daughter,
Put him in the hold with the Captain's daughter,
Put him in the hold with the Captain's daughter,
Earl-eye in the morning!
[Chorus]
What do you do with a drunken sailor,
What do you do with a drunken sailor,
What do you do with a drunken sailor,
Earl-eye in the morning!
[Chorus]
Put him the back of the paddy wagon,
Put him the back of the paddy wagon,
Put him the back of the paddy wagon,
Earl-eye in the morning!
[Chorus]
Throw him in the lock-up 'til he's sober,
Throw him in the lock-up 'til he's sober,
Throw him in the lock-up 'til he's sober,
Earl-eye in the morning!
