However I do agree, this is a retched place, hot and lacking water, certainly not fit for Pirates such as ourselves. No worries, it is all part of FSMs great plan, it must be to test our faith, if we can't sail the seven seas and raid ships, then we can surf the internet and raid exspensive software!

Well I have to diasagree

I think AZ is the greatest place on earth-- of course because Tucson is my hometown I may be heat biased!

I do agree that the lack of water is a detriment to being a true pirate and I guess it is truly a test of faith.

I suppose it would be illegal to sail the great Central Arizona Project waterway-- but of course they would have to catch the ship. And then what is the charge-- pillaging of aquatic byways or blocking of screen gates via overboard dumping of cooked noodles?

I'll be home (to Tucson) as soon as my undergrad stuff is finished here in AR so we gotta get together.

I am so jealous you guys are in AZ- really
My mantra
Just save the farkin Gorillas will you! They don't have spell check- but they do need YOU/US...

I Ned Speil Cheek!!!!!!!!

I'm *not* the lowest rank on this ship. What about the laboratory mice? I tell them something and they jump straight to it. "Yes, Mr. Lister Sir, eek, eek."

I am also here in Arizona. My friend just converted today and we know a few people on the verge of converting who are over here too.

I am an Arizonan from Tucson who happens to now live in KC, MO. Although I am Pastifarian, I DO miss the great Mexican food, i.e the Casa Molina's (or Mi Nidito's)carne seca chimi's (enchelada style, of course), as well as the cheese crisps. Oh, and the St. Mary's tortillas (to die for!). MMMMMMMMM.

I do not miss the terribly hot summers though. Don't tell me "it's a dry heat." An oven also has a "dry heat!"

There's been the suggestion that tortillas might technically count as pasta (being an unleavened dough product,) as well as other foods. Tamales seem rather like a stuffed pasta to me....

A recent convert checking in from Scottsdale/ Tempe... arrgh!

Thar be pirates what sail the Salt River, arrgh!

Some 5 or 6 or 7 billion years from now, the Sun will become a red giant star and will engulf the orbits of Mercury and Venus and probably the Earth. The Earth then would be inside the Sun, and some of the problems that face us on this particular day will appear, by comparison, modest. On the other hand, since it is 5,000 or more million years away, it is not our most pressing problem. It is, though, worth bearing in mind. It has theological implications. - Carl Sagan, Master of Understatement

Let it be known that the Salt River Pirates can count another among 'er hands before the mast. We'll see the truth be known yet.

RAmen fellow deswert pirates

the Tucson Unified* Church holds outreach events every other Saturday on 4th ave (Across the street from the christians with the bull horn).
Our next event (sat Nov22 2008) will be our biggest event with about a dozen or so pirates and a video crew filming all the noodly goodness that is bound to unfold.

8pm in front of the Italian restaurant on 4th ave

may your sauce be meaty

(* we are a Unified FSM church because we accept both pirates and ninjas so long as they have been touched by his noodly appendage, or have a good sense of humor)

Am working in Taos, NM for the Winter but should be in Sedona at the end of Feb. to work the Film Festival, and hope to be back at my job in Page, AZ next Spring. Only worked half a season this Summer without enough time or money to sail my dream Pirate Kayak through the channels of Lake Powell.
