The thin line between genius and insanity is less of a border than a union.

"Science can purify religion from error and superstition; religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes. Each can draw the other into a wider world, a world in which both can flourish."
--Pope John Paul II

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

DYK...
the word kangaroo really means "I don´t understand you"?
When the first settlers arrived to Australia, and they asked to aboriginals how they called those funny animals, the aboriginals answered "kan ga roo", what means "I don´t understand you".

Reminds me of the mountains on Discworld whose name, when translated, means 'I don't know, just some mountains, I guess.'

Did you know that the pork is the most eaten meat in the world (mainly because of the Chinese people, I suppose)?

That's because Anthony Hopkins is from Port Talbot in South Wales, next to my home town. If you came from Port Talbot you wouldn't blink either...it's dangerous to take your eyes of anyone there.

In contrast to “The Silence of the Lambs”, in “The Silence of the Hams” there is a lot of blinks as well as pizza and spaghetti – it is Italian picture (Ezio Greggio made it in 1994).

We could learn from these guys:

Dilligent Flat Earth Society members under the employ of Delta Airlines undertook a project which will no doubt bring countless numbers of motion-sickness prone individuals into the ranks of our organization. Using only permanent markers and every airsickness bag on planes restricted to west coast travel, they were able to neatly outline the Flat Earth Society mission statement on enough receptacles so as to spread our creed to those of the masses with overly sensitive inner ears.

Now that's opportunism at it's best.

Did you know that, as of a few years ago, Catholics are now allowed to be cremated? My western history prof (who is a catholic) explained to us that when heretics were burned at the stake, it was believed that they went straight to hell, with no shot at heaven or even purgatory. Also, it was believed that God could not then raise them come judgement day, because their bodies had been so utterly destroyed (though I don't know how he would raise a body that had been completely devoured by worms either). Thus, Catholics were not allowed to be cremated upon death, or God, the almighty, omnipotent being that he supposedly is, would not be able to pieace them back together. Religion is silly.
