I agree. I put in this thread earlier the word "andiamo" which in Italian means "let's go" or "come on". I love that.

There are a lot of words too that come from other languages that we just don't know. Like the word "skosh" for "a little"...if someone asks you if you want more wine and you say "just a skosh". Well while in Japan I learned that the word for a little in Japanese is "skoshi" and that's where "skosh" comes from (at least I'm assuming). I just never would have thought it was Japanese, since most of our words are romance language based.

We use it all the time over here = ‘Pukka’ meaning First Class or absolutely genuine.
Derived from Hindi words Pukka Sahib meaning ‘master’ or ‘true gentleman.’

Oh yes it's pukka me old china.
The smoke wafted gently in the breeze across the poop deck and all seemed right in the world.
