Rented Prozac Nation today.

Christina Ricci fully nude and I was still bored.

We Are Marshall was almost . . . Not terrible.

Almost.

You know what was wrong with it? Other than the fact that entire snippets of dialogue were stolen from Remember the Titans and all those other "sports team overcomes personal tragedy to almost win a championship" movies, it was saddled by a really lame-brained director.

"Okay. Now, during the last play of the big game, when they need a touchdown to win, I want the quarterback to throw the ball. And while the camera follows it's flight through the air, I want . . . five minutes of recycled footage from the rest of the film. Then cut back to the ball and the receiver can . . . Catch it or . . . However you score in football."

Rambo 4: What kind of bloodthirsty ape watches this gore?

"Huh huh huh, a head exploded, huh huh huh."

Jesus, I do not understand slasher films. So you filmed some dude erupting into a geyser of pure red blood and that's your artistic statement? Do you have a brain disease or something? I mean, I'm not squeamish in the slightest, but why is almost every horror/action movie that comes out these days like a porno, only with blood instead of sex?

I once went to a lecture by Saul Bass, one of the great graphic designers of the mid 20th Century. Saul Bass designed the titles for Hitchcock's Psycho and also helped with the design of the film itself. He was involved with the famous Shower Scene and tried to get Hitchcock to shoot the scene without any blood at all. In the end Hitchcock insisted on a trickle of blood swirling down the plug hole. Yet this is still one of the scariest slasher scenes in movie history.
The smoke wafted gently in the breeze across the poop deck and all seemed right in the world.

HULK SMASH

It was really good IMO. I thought so much of it was farfetched and retarded, but it is an action movie.

Pay it Forward...again.

Good movie.

Dude, no one is a bigger Hitchcock fan than me, but you can't compare the so-called "horror" movies of today to anything Hitchcock ever did. Anymore it's just a contest to see how much more blood and guts they can pack into 90 minutes.

I remember hating that movie, and being mad because I expected better from that cast.

It was terrible and cheesy! It had no plot, it was just some incredibly heavy-handed attempt to manipulate people into a way of thinking. It was an after-school special someone put on the big screen.

Nothing in the entire movie was there to tell a story, every single element was there to "pull your heart strings"

Utter crap.

I agree with you but there are exceptions eg The original Japanese version of 'The Ring' and 'The Blaire Witch Project'.

I don't like films like 'Wolf Creek'.

Well, you know the thing about exceptions is that they prove the rule.

Also, Blair Witch Project? Really? I mean, REALLY? Wow. Just wow.

Expertly promoted, to be sure, but how can you really enjoy a movie that can only be viewed one time?
