Dawkins has done the impossible: He has gotten me interested in science. I am such a fan, now.

Nation, Terry Pratchett.

Let's work together to keep the present inevitable.

So yeah, I went and got a blog.

An old "The Saint" novel..."The Saint Goes to Miami" or some such...

Sometimes junk food for the brain is good...
Empusa's crew, so naked-new they may not face the fire,
But weep that they bin too small to sin to the height of their desire,
(Kipling)

Agnes Grey got pissed off with the little horrors she was looking after, actually she got sacked, and she had to move back to the Parsonage...the excitement is killing me.
The smoke wafted gently in the breeze across the poop deck and all seemed right in the world.

Right now I'm finishing up Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon. My friend is making me read it, but it's pretty good.

If I ever get through Agnes Grey without dying of boredom, reading a Pratchett book will be like escaping from a gang of Jehovah's Witnesses and hiding in Madame Fifi's.

It certainly is, after reading the thoroughly humourless Wheel of Time series.

Just got done reading Anathem by Neal Stephenson. Pretty good read, makes high-level meta-physics and philosophy an entertaining narrative. Going to read "Word War Z" next.
"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed'? Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.'" - Carl Sagan

"To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection." - Henri Poincaré

I spoke too soon...Agnes Grey is getting raunchy now:

I've done you a piece of good service, Nancy," he began: then seeing me, he acknowledged my presence by a slight bow. I should have been invisible to Hatfield, or any other gentleman of those parts. "I've delivered your cat,"he continued, "from the hands, or rather the gun, of Mr Murray's gamekeeper."

By goodness, he saved her pussy...Terry Pratchett can wait.

Letting myself read Hero of Ages to finish the Mistborn Trilogy. I like this guy a lot.
I believe it's time for mankind to set aside the crutch of religion and embrace morality born of reason and truth. Those crutches have long since proven treacherous when the ground gets slippery.
