That's what happens in the NHS as well (in my experience). There really isn't much you can do for toes, fingers or ribs, you get the standard X-ray to check if it is broken, they strap it up, give you painkillers and tell you not to do whatever it was you did again.
I'd still suggest Tig goes in bearing in mind her existing medical issues. You'd feel silly if this turned out to be an indicator of something serious like osteoporosis and you didn't get it checked out
