Just got back from Mother's Day brunch with my mother, her partner, and my grandparents (on my mother's side).

Duck in cherry sauce, dilled potatoes, onion and bell pepper omelet, fruit salad, pea soup with pancetta and truffle oil, mimosas (of which I did not partake), sparkling cider, chocolate mousse encased in hard chocolate...

And that was at the dining room of the retirement community they all live in.

scrambled eggs with diced green onions and green peppers mixed in, dashed with hot sauce then the whole concoction wrapped into a flatbread with a slice or turkey breast, cheddar, and sweet chilli sauce.

enjoyed with a mug of spiced chai tea

Just had a successful first attempt at making beef stew with dumplings. Also a loaf of garlic bread.

I've been on a real cooking spree now that class is done.

I cooked soft shell crabs for my girlfriend. It was good but I didn't get the crust quite right. Either wrong breading method or I didn't get the oil hot enough.

haha yea I considered it, but my dad developed the same allergy at the same age I did and had to be rushed to the hospital for anaphylactic shock. There's enough tasty food in the world still. I can still have fish tho so it's not a total loss considering how great the fishing is up where I live. Then again, it's Hoth so most of the year it has to be ice fishing. tres boring.
