The primes thing reminded me--
I really like the number 1001 because, at first glance to the not-very trained eye like mine, it looks like it should be prime, but in fact it's the product of three consecutive primes:
7 * 11 * 13 = 1001.
(hey, there's another 77 in 7*11 :) )

And this reminds me of a math property I once learned as a calculator trick.

If x,y,z be digits and x does not equal zero, then note:

The number xyzxyz divided by 7 divided by 11 divided by 13 = xyz.

Example: 285285 / 7 / 11 / 13 = 285

We should pick a number with absolutely no significance, just to throw them off.

Speaking of 11 and 13, splitting the FS Matrix from the 6:00 position gives 7532995327

7532995327 factors to the rather odd primes of 11, 13 and 52678289.

one thing I noticed today in science class, was that eight+shift (on the keyboard) = *, which is something quite a few of us have used here I'm sure.

I don't think I have much more to add, since you're all going off on wild prime number rampages.

The number of the Anti-pasta has been deduced by splitting the FSMatrix at the 6:00 position and going counter-clockwise:

7235992357 = 11*19*37*397*2357

37 is the Infernal Prime, the true number of evil.

I still think that we should adopt the square root of negative 4 as our number.

The square root of negative four is 2i. I think imaginary numbers shouldn't be symbolic, because once you get into specious reasoning with that, you have to avoid the uncomfortable implication that all this is imagined. Which, of course, it is not.

I rest my case.

38, because it's a sideways FSM :D :fsm:

No, no. Read back earlier in the thread. That's far too simplistic a version. 52 and 77 are the magic numbers.

The FSM matrix is such:

2995
3003
5772

The 2s, 5s, 7s, and 3s are all the Noodly Appendages.
The zeroes are the meatballs that, when flipped, are an 8.
The 9s are the eyestalks.

It's perfect in so many ways.

^So is it those 4-number ones or 52 and 77?

That's simply the matrix, which is in itself magical, but only because it resembles the FSM.

The actual magic numbers derived from it are 52 and 77.

we also decided 8 was important too. and that 77 was not as important as 8 or 52.

52 in itself is a derivative of 8, because not only does it come from the FSM matrix, which includes a sideways 8, it's also 42 in base 8.

To clarify for slow people like me that didn't totally get your meaning at first:

42 (base 10) = 52 (base 8 ). (Did you know base 8 is the base of sunglasses smilies? 8))

I love it.
