Donnerjack
Zelazny and Lindskold

I read it right when it came out, before, but now, as I've rediscovered how fantastic Zelazny was, and have been reading stuff of his I first read in grammar school, I didn't realize what an ode to his own impending death it was.

The Old Man and the Sea was terrible. I was terribly bored throughout, and was hoping he'd get eaten by the sharks. Yeah. Okay- if you are forced to read this in an English class, all you need to recognise is that the old man is Jesus, and there, that's the whole book, okay? When forced to write an...

I loved Brave New World and 1984, though I think Animal Farm is more age appropriate in this instance. (It reads better with the familiarity with children's books a young adult [or a parent] has. I honestly think some adults, not being able to view it as satire, get so wrapped up in the talking pigg...

Just finished Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan (no relation that I know of.)

Okay, so now I acknowledge the existance of five living worthwhile scifi writers, of which 1 has not written much worthwhile in 10 years, 1 in 4 years, 1 in 2 years and the other is Jack McDevitt.

I discovered some rum. There are some people claiming that the rum was actually theirs, but I posted my flag on the cases, so that makes it mine.

I'm willing to share.

We could get the Queen of England to give us one....

I personally say screw the ship, we deserve Jamaica.

I claim it in the name of Clan Morgan, for all Pastafarians to use as a home base.

I'm afraid my wife will not make it to heaven.

Are people who are allergic to hops allergic to beer volcanos and how are strippers who earned heaven distinguished from factory made ones?

Or, was she ACTUALLY factory made all along and I am blessed?

Spaghetti squash has a milder flavor than other kinds of squash, making it ideal for kids who don't like reqular squash, and it's fun, because it looks like noodles, and it's great with marinera sauce. You know, I tried it tossed with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon (and a little rum) and found I ...

Yeah, plus there's that whole thing about the ethics of how and why you're doing it, and being objective versus being obnoxious and all that other alfredo under the bridge.

Christians don't eat tofu??? Or is tofu just generally so nasty that it wouldn't drive anyone into a feeding frenzy? Because THAT I definitely agree with. Nah, just that good old fashion Christfolk won't touch suspicious stuff out of Asia....and frankly, I imagine a person covered in tofu would rui...

The Crawling Eye

Has anyone other than me watched The Crawling Eye (1958) and thought it was some anti-FSM propaganda. Such thinnly veiled references to his noodly appendages.... http://www.bmoviecentral.com/bmoviecentral/reviews/The%20Crawling%20Eye.html My son says this is the protoform of FSM, as he tried to coal...
