Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I Am Legend wasn't bad. Richard Matheson wrote the original novel, the same person who wrote What Dreams May Come. Good read, if a bit different than the movie, but what else is new?

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

My bf wants to go see 2012 this weekend. I really don't care one way or the other, but I'm reminded of the fact that Roland Emmerich is attached to it, and he's the same genius who handed us the American Godzilla film and Independence Day, neither of which impressed me much. The one thing I can say ...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Never could get into Dragonball. Anyone know where I can get the 3rd Bleach box set for cheap?

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I've heard that Mirrors is good, if a little gory. For some reason, Keifer Sutherland seems to like doing films that mess with your head.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Watched G.I. Joe: the Rise of Cobra again last night. I like it even though it didn't do well at the box office. Not a great film, but kinda fun to watch.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Silent Hill was interesting in how they showed the difference between our world and the dream world that the town had fallen into. Shows why intolerance is a really bad thing, too. Not a great film, but possibly worth rescuing from a budget bin. I didnt get the difference between our world and the ...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Watched House on Haunted Hill (the original Vincent Price film!) and Silent Hill recently. I much prefer the Price film to the remake as it was a nice suspense film, and didn't rely so heavily on the supernatural element. That type of film seems to be dying out, sad to say. Silent Hill was interesti...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

The roaches in Creepshow bothered me too, but I saw the film at the tender age of 5, so I guess age plays a role in the reactions to that particular scene.

As to recent films, I saw The Illusionist on dvd and Zombieland in the theater. Loved 'em both.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I'd like to see some more in the way of original stuff come out of Hollywood instead of remakes. As I recall, Last House on the Left is a remake of a film that's about 30 years old, give or take, and I haven't bothered with either one of them. I also refuse to watch the latest Saw film. There isn't ...

There be precious few pastafarians in my neck of the woods, too. Nice to know there's at least one more Virginian out there!

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I think that last statement sums up how I feel about every job I've ever had, with one edit: I care just enough to keep getting paychecks. Other than that, though, no, I don't care. I show up, work my shift, and go the hell home. BBC America recently ran a Roger Moore Bond marathon, so I indulged a ...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

There's also a Suncoast in range of my home, so if I'm interested in owning something obscure, they can usually order it for me. The local Targets also carry Milk and Religulous on dvd. Funny how Wal-Mart won't go near some of those films...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Hollywood is hung up on remakes. When I heard they were redoing Day the Earth Stood Still, I balked. Saw the previews and told the bf that he would probably be watching that POS alone. He wound up not watching it, either. I won't go anywhere near it. Americans seem to have a tendency to f*** up anyt...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

They attempted an American Red Dwarf? Heresy, says I! You can't do better than the original British show. I was young enough during the run of DM that I saw that I don't remember certain details, so I'm basically watching them for the first time all over again. (Yes, I have a beer at hand, sorry)

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Been watching some Danger Mouse recently. I loved it as a kid, and then managed to get my paws on the dvds, so I'm having some pleasant nostalgia right now.

9 looks interesting; it might be a possibility next week. Have to see how my work schedule (such as it is) pans out.
