Re: What are you reading right now?

Wow, now I'm a bit into the writing thing as well, but the following is better than about any single sentence I've managed to produce, and is worthy of much praise: 'She had tried to tell him that she was a vegan, and had no desire to eat his brains, but when you have no tongue, everything you say i...

Re: Corrupt a wish.

Granted. However, you wish your grasp wasn't so tight, since the acceleration rips your arm into a finite but nonetheless quite large number of nearly infinitely small particles that wish you'd never heard the phrase 'relatively harmless.' I wish for enough money to get a haircut before my job inter...

Re: Pre-Posthumous Pratchet aPpreciation Page

Aye, that's why I don't even bother with the Pirate Talk... the little blue tattooed men do it much better than I ever could. Ok, here's one from Reaper Man , including a classic Pratchett footnote: One of the nice things about being a priest in the Lost Jewelled Temple of Doom of Offler the Crocodi...

Re: Pre-Posthumous Pratchet aPpreciation Page

Ok, from Wee Free Men p. 51, since I just reread it, and it's certainly in my top-20 Pratchett books: Miss Tick, standing up said "Well, I must go. I hope we shall meet again. I will give you some free advice, though." "Will it cost me anything?" "What? I just said it was fr...

Pre-Posthumous Pratchet aPpreciation Page

Since we apparently have quite a number of Pratchett fans, I'd like to hear about favorite Pratchett books, why you like his books, or what your favorite line is. This is, in some small, inappropriate, and anticipatedly morbid way, a pre-ode to one of the soon-to-be-gone great writers in the English...

Re: Of why harry potter and dan brown books sucks

A suggestion: I notice that a lot of people have said they really like the Harry Potter books. If you liked those (and I did), you might check out Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching novels if you haven't already. They have some superficial likenesses: both are fantasy series, both involve early teens ...

Re: Pasta or all Wheat products?

I believe that noodles are sacred, and noodles are not necessarily made from wheat. I'm not even sure that all Pasta (Italian noodles) are made of wheat. I'd have to think that wheat is not a necessary and sufficient condition for sacredness, and that therefore not all wheat products are sacred. Som...

Re: The hell is all this then?

So let me get this straight anyway...the entire purpose of this is to emphasize the little factoid that the existence of a god is non-falsifiable, somehow rendering it impossible? Originally, the purpose was to highlight that it would be illogical to teach ID in Kansas public school science classes...

Re: Million Noodle March - Food Bank Locations

There are several food banks in Kentucky dear. Louisa, Harlan, and Hazard each have interfaith food banks to donate to. Don't know about central or western KY, but I imagine there are some options there as well.
